Early Years

Reception: Unicorn Class

Every day in Early Years in a new adventure. We nurture and encourage the natural curiosity in every individual child, though play, exploration and investigation. Children learn through active play, developing the physical, social and emotional skills they will need for life. It is here that strong friendships are born. Our staff are very skilled in drawing the best out of each child, helping them to be the best they can be.

Our Blog

21st October. This week we have completed recounts of our amazing trip to York and drawn pictures of what we got up to. We have also learned some new sounds in phonics.

In Maths we have been practicing writing our numbers and have learned a rhyme for each one. We have also been counting and adding numbers together.

We have also been investigating habitats of different animals and sorting them into where they most like to live.

We are all looking forward to half term now!

14th October. The best thing we did this week was to go to York to make lollies and edible wallpaper. We went on a new coach. We tried lots of chocolate. We have been learning about Willa Wonka and his chocolate factory.

We have also been practicing writing our numbers from 0 to 10.

You might want to ask us to explain "Maisie mountain, mountain", "Around the apple and down the leaf" and "Slither down the snake"!

We had harvest festival on Tuesday at the church but our painting went missing.
