Nature Walk

Phoenix Class really enjoyed going on an Autumn Nature walk on Friday afternoon. Having created our own maps of the local area we planned the route of our walk and used our maps to help us navigate. We each had a job to do whilst on the walk. The range of jobs included; bird watching, insect spotting, photographers and scavenger hunt collectors. We found a range of plants, animals and habitats and thoroughly enjoyed creating some outdoor art with leaf rubbings.

Roald Dahl

In phoenix class we have been reading ‘Danny the Champion of the World’. We have enjoyed writing a range of texts including Biographies about Roald Dahl. Have a look some of the biographies we have written.

We are now creating newspaper articles. They are based on the mystery of the sleepy, falling, pheasants is Mr Victor Hazell’s wood. Here the children are being news reporters and hot seating some of the key eye-witnesses.

Year 3 and 4: Phoenix Class

There is an exciting and stimulating learning environment in Phoenix class. The children greatly enjoy our topic based approach. It enables them to make links between different subjects and we proactively look for opportunities to develop and apply the core skills of literacy, numeracy and ICT across the curriculum.
