Admissions

We fully appreciate how daunting it can be choosing a school for your child, especially if it is a process you haven't been through before. We are keen to help you through it as much as we can.

All of our new starters begin school in the September following their fourth birthday. Where possible we offer Pre-Reception places after Christmas and Easter for children who have just turned 4. This has been flexible up to the 15 funded hours offered to 3 and 4 year olds. However, we are consulting on whether there would be enough interest to offer 30 hours, following the new childcare offer for working parents, starting in Septmeber 2017. If you would like to discuss this further, please ring school and speak to Mr. Oswald.

Admission applications are made to North Yorkshire County Council who then allocate places and advise school and parents in the April prior to starting school. If you child has started school and you are considering moving them, arrangements are still through NYCC. We would love the opportunity to show you round, in order to help you make your decision.

If you are considering taking a school place at Great Ouseburn, you are warmly invited to visit us, meet the team and see our unique approach to learning.  Please call our school office to make an appointment  or e-mail us at:

admin@greatouseburn.n-yorks.sch.uk or headteacher@greatouseburn.n-yorks.sch.uk if it is out of term time.
