Welcome to the FOGOS homepage!

FOGOS is Great Ouseburn School’s parent teacher association. We are a committee of volunteers who, with staff, parents’ and wider community support, organise the events throughout the year to raise essential funds for school equipment, educational trips and learning resources.

In 2016-17, thanks to everyone’s generosity FOGOS events raised £8000, a fantastic result. The Committee gave the school donations for:

  • School trip transport
  • The Den decoration and new furniture
  • Year 3&4 classroom refurbishment
  • EYFS learning resources
  • Year 6 presents and party
  • The Village Hall and playing fields for sports
  • The artificial grass playground

We were delighted to be able to contribute to the laying of the artificial grass along with funding from Councillor Paraskos’ locality budget, generous donations from parents and additional school sport premium. The next phase of playground development is to transform the currently underused area behind the Year 5/6 classroom. We asked the children what they'd like and they've asked for an outdoors classroom with sensory garden that will attract wildlife.

The really exciting news is that we have been selected as one of three local causes to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund for the next phase of the outside area development.

Here’s what you need to know…

If you're not already, please sign up to be a Co-op Member for a £1 at www.coop.co.uk/membership or visit the local store at Skipbridge and select Friends of Great Ouseburn School as your local cause (online it will come up as one of three when you add your postcode). Then please tell all your friends and family to do the same! They can choose FOGOS as their cause.

Every time members shop at Co-op on branded goods and every time a carrier bag is bought a % goes to the Co-op Local Community Fund which is then equally shared between us and the two other local charities. So as well as becoming a member please consider doing the odd shop there if you're passing!! Thank you so much.
